How It Works

Two Wyoming students, Jon and Tiffany both use CowboyBookSwap. Tiffany purchased her Sociology book for $120 new at the beginning of the semester. When she attempted to sell it back to the bookstore when the class ended, they only offered $50. Frustrated, Tiffany realized that she could list her book on CowboyBookSwap and get a fair deal. Jon, taking Sociology next semester and needing that book for class logs on to CowboyBookSwap and finds that Tiffany is selling the book he needs, for only $75. Jon will pay $75 for the book because even the used copy at the bookstore costs $95. Jon registers for CowboyBookSwap, contacts Tiffany and gives her cash for the book.

Tiffany received $25 more by using CowboyBookSwap and Jon paid $75 for a $120 book! They are both happy! CowboyBookSwap connects you directly to other students, saving you money!

Even if you don't have books to sell, you can still find books and purchase them for less. It's like a classified ad system for books, but it is limited to UW students, so you know you are getting the right book (be sure to check with your professor to make sure the book you are buying is the correct book for the class).

Remember to search here first before going to the bookstore. If you can't find the book you need on CowboyBookSwap (as is the case with new editions), then buy the book online or at the bookstore. At the end of the semester, list your book on CowboyBookSwap and receive the money you deserve.
